L-Tyrosine is an amino acid that can be found in such foods as fish, eggs, nuts, beans, oats, meats and dairy products. It is also made in the body from phenylalanine. Tyrosine is involved in the creation of the key neurotransmitters dopamine as well adrenaline and noradrenaline and also the thyroid hormones triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4). As a result L-Tyrosine is used for boosting mental performance, mood disorders, ADD and ADHD, Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s Disease as well as stress management.
