Thiamin (vitamin B1) is an essential vitamin found in green peas, asparagus, Brussels sprouts, sesame seeds, cereals and bread. All organisms use thiamine, but it is made only in bacteria, fungi, and plants so other animals must ingest it. It has a major impact on the energy regulating Krebs cycle and thus on cellular activity. It is sued for diabetes, heart failure and brain conditions including Alzheimer’s Disease.
